Bloom & Wild Bouquet

One thing I feel completes a room is a vase of beautiful flowers and foliage. It brightens up a room and, let’s be honest- what woman doesn’t love to receive flowers?

My usual experience with flowers is supermarket flowers which do not normally last more than 3 days before they start looking more sad and droopy than cheerful and uplifting!

I saw Bloom & Wild on my Facebook feed and it really caught my attention- initially in a pessimistic view. How on earth can they fit a decent bunch of flowers in a box no bigger than my letter box?
I read the reviews and saw the pictures people had uploaded and knew I had to try these out myself!

After tagging my husband oh so subtly and having no luck, I contacted the company myself and soon ‘The Florence’ bouquet was on its way!
The Florence contains some beautiful fragrant flowers, Snapdragons, Green Bell, Astrantia, Solidago, Bupleurum and a spray of Veronica.

They arrived promptly and sure enough- fitted through my letter box and were safely in my front porch away from the heavy rain we had that day.
The box not only feels like you have received something very special, it looks elegant and feels like you are being given the royal treatment already.

As you can see, I was not disappointed. The inside reminded me of a chocolate box. The same enjoyment without the calories! The presentation of this product is beyond compare.

After taking all the flowers out, snipping the ends off to encourage them to drink the water a bit more efficiently after travelling I actually struggled to get all the stems in my biggest vase! This glass vase is a handmade one I usually save for combing three bunches of supermarket flowers together to make it look full. I genuinely could not fit anymore in there!

I am super impressed! I have had them for several days now and they still look as fresh as when I took them out of the box. I have been quite poorly this week and these have really cheered me up and given a lovely fresh scent to my living room.

I thoroughly recommend you having a look at this company. You can send flowers to a friend (or treat your self- everyone deserves the royal treatment) with ease and choose from a truly stunning range of bouquets for proper prices. Unlike many of the leading companies, your money really is paying for flowers- not a brand name.

Anybody interested in trying out a bunch – Patterjack and Tweed readers are entitled to £10 off if you order within the next 30 days ! Go to www.bloomandwild.com and use the code PV4Y3NZR ( new customers only )

Pheasant Cushion

Pheasant Cushion

The Pheasant has to be one of my favourite applique designs. This one in particular is rather striking as it in appliqued onto a stunning teal coloured fabric which really compliments the red on his face dont you think?

This chap has been sold but if you would like to have your own Pheasant Cushion , drop me a message.

No two Pheasant designs are the same , much like the birds them selves. Each one is totally unique to you.

What do you think of this handsome chap?

Annies Fairy Garden

Annie's Fairy Garden

Today i decided to take on a small makeover/recycling project with my little girl.

This Chiminea was cracked and pretty much useless with regards to holding heat so it was destined for the tip. But then I was inspired !

I visited our local garden centre Wolvercroft World of Plants and purchased a few lovely trailing flowers. From my own garden i found the base off an old hanging basket, a large pot, and some shingle.

We used the base of the hanging basket ( with some shingle under it ) as a false bottom to allow drainage to the plants. I had a few trowels full of compost left over from my summer bedding plant up so we put that to good use ! Inside we planted a white Calibrachoa with lovely creamy white flowers with tiny yellow centres. The Calibrachoa likes to dry out between waterings which suits the inside of the pot perfectly as it will be slightly sheltered from the rain.

The chimney part looked a bit bare so we found the large pot that sits in there perfectly to hold a trailing Petunia in this lovely light mauve colour. Having a plant at the top with drainage also allows us to save water by just watering the top plant as the water will drop to the soil below quenching the thirst of the underneath plant!

Inside we led the original lid down and tucked in my childrens favourite fairy statue.

I am looking forward to creating some magic in this pot by hiding little treats for the children to find.

I hope you like it !

Home Furnishing

I recently purchased these curtains as a light and airy summer set for our living room. They did not come with tiebacks so i decided to make my own to compliment the furnishings in my living room.

The colours really compliment each other don't you think?

I love accessorising my home with handmade items, personal touches really make a house , a home. Tie backs do not necessarily need to be just a functional item, why not make them an accessory in the window dressing.

What do you think?

Holtwood Community Farm

Holtwood Community Farm LLP

Today I attended the Open Day at Holtwood Community Farm.
If you have not been, I recommend a visit.

The farm offers people with a wide range of support needs, the opportunity to be involved in a whole host of outdoor activities.

The farm animals are well handled and love the attention from the visitors. It is great to see their paddocks equipped with lovingly hand painted stalls, stables and coops!

There is a very homely atmosphere as you walk around the farm. Everyone is very welcoming and chatty. All the greenhouses and polytunnels were open to view and fully stocked with an enormous variety of vegetables and flowers to purchase to create your own piece of ‘The Good Life’ in your own garden.

With the BBQ, Pizza Oven and tea and cake stalls, we were well catered for. All donations gathered from today’s event, go towards the cost of their newly installed kitchen.

As a Herdsman’s daughter- my experience with sheep (besides having the odd orphaned lamb to feed) is limited, so it was lovely to see the shearing and the huge mound of fleece that was removed. I bet they felt a lot cooler after a very good haircut!

Children were able to sit on the tractors, stroke the animals and feed the Chickens, Ducks and Geese. We were very excited to meet Petal the Donkey today who was more than happy with the cuddles she was getting!

It really was a fantastic day, what a truly remarkable life experience the farm is giving to so many families.

This gorgeous book was our bedtime story last night accompanied by my eldest daughters special cuddly handmade Hedgehog! Isnt her face gorgeous?

'The Very Helpful Hedgehog' is a wonderful, sweetly illustrated message about friendship and helping others. It is absolutely lovely , a must have for the bedtime story shelf or a snuggly book corner read.
